This is a piece written by my beautiful friend Vivien, a beautiful soul and Sister Warrior. We met on a Cancer Support Group on Social Media, when I was starting out on my journey. We continue to support each other most days and, I am sure we have many more years of friendship to look forward to. X

From 2014 thru 2017, I was pretty sick all the time. I recall 2017 was a nightmare year for me because every other week I was in the hospital. Chemotherapy turned its ugly face and my body was destroyed. All kinds of issues and then some. The physical and emotional struggles of this disease have destroyed my life that was until I discovered that there was another way to heal. I love my Dee Mani Mitchell and Toni Riddick to pieces. It was through both these beautiful ladies that I was able to find my way to the world of holistic medicine and my healing. I have a long way to go yet, changes in the making, all doable. I always believe there is nothing that I set my mind to do that I can’t do. So with that said, I am truly blessed to have found this wonderful support group and have been able to move on and continue to strive.

 

THE LEGAL SIDE OF CANNABIS IN THE STATES

 

My legal journey with cannabis started in 2018. I live in the state of Florida, this is when it became legal for medicinal use.  There were many loopholes to jump through in order to get this so-called cannabis license. You first had to apply through the state and be approved with your condition and prove it to get the card. After you had your card, then you had to go see a Doctor that specialized in Cannabis, which none of them knew jack shit! I know more than they do. They had to order whatever it is I wanted like oil, flower, vape etc. That was the only question they ever asked was okay “What do you want?” No medical history all they knew was that I had cancer that’s it.  With that said, they did not even know that my type of cancer required a strain called Indica. Anyhow, they ordered what I wanted and this would allow me to go to a dispensary where I could buy my products. Very expensive the oils. RSO $ 50.00 per gram. In order for me to get off the chemotherapy, I needed 1 gram per day. $1,500.00 per month to start my treatment. No wonder I am always broke! . In any case, all of the above also came with a cost the card needs to be renewed every year for $75.00 that is doable. Every 6 months when it is time to see the Doctor, it’s another $300.00, so they can ask me what do I want? Well, I want to heal completely! This is all through government and money lots of it to pay out. Honestly, I am disabled and what I pay per month is outrageous. It is literally more than what I make monthly. My financial struggles are real, but at the end of the day, I have to have my oil no matter what it takes.

 

HOW I AM DOING TODAY

UPDATE:  It has taken me some time to get off the chemo for six years. Today December 1, 2020, is two months that I have not taken chemotherapy. In October I had my gene test done and my result was NO DETECTION ZERO.  I was through the roof as happy as ever when I received those results. So, now I continue on my journey and try to improve my diet as it is not a good one at all. I really try, but it is difficult with my intestinal issues many veggies I can not eat. I still have nausea all the time and at times eat and purge, but I think that it has to do with detoxing from the chemotherapy. Six years of chemotherapy do not get out of your system overnight. I continue to strive and be the best me ever. I hope that my story can help someone to reach healing in a holistic way, it really does work. Cannabis cures cancer, I am living proof.  I thank you all for reading my story.
