2020…..

I have learned so much about myself during this  year of craziness. It has certainly been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It’s how we deal with the emotions that matters, how we react.

My Mental Health took a turn for the worse as Autumn approached. Those dark nights and short days, cocooned in the same four walls was beginning to really grate my carrot. I needed a focus, something to distract me from the boredom.  It needed to be something I enjoyed and passionate about.

Then a light bulb moment happened.

We are so very blessed to live in such an amazing location. Panoramic views dominate this picturesque little fishing village. Surrounded by water, the Lune Estuary at one side and The Lancaster Canal on the other, makes it a perfect tourist attraction. Dog walker’s heaven.

Whilst out and about with Hector, our big daft pooch, I often just stop, look around and listen, taking in the beauty, listening to the birds chorus, the running of water, the sound of the Swans powerful wings, flapping, echoing across the water as they prepare for take off and, sometimes I listen to the silence.

We are so busy with life that we forget to appreciate what is staring us right in the face. Pre Cancer, I thought that I did appreciate what I had but, it has been my recovery and the 2020 lockdown that has woken me up to what I do have and what I actually need.

At the beginning of the year I embraced the time we had, staying positive, enjoying the glorious summer that we were blessed with and, then suddenly my world seemed to crumble all around me. With no focus, no stable income, no motivation, and very little positivity, I just seemed to be floating in my own little bubble, getting by day to day. Something had to change. Finances at zero, Christmas coming at you faster than ever, my car about to die, and our first Grandchild arriving in Spring, not forgetting some direct words from one of my best friends…”Get a job!!!” Thank you Fiona Burford for encouraging me.

I am not often lost for words but I was on this day. A good work ethic was something my parents jabbered on about many times. Never shy of hard graft or rolling up my sleeves, I didn’t just want to go out and get any job. Deep in my heart I knew that I definitely wanted to help others, making a difference and educating people on natural organic products, it needed to be something that would work alongside my online net marketing business…..???

Although Christmas was approaching fast, it wasn’t quite coming quick enough in a selfish kind of way, soon it would be time for me to open my new Tropics Skincare Presents, that my daughter normally bought me and,  every last drop had been removed or squeezed from every bottle and tube sat waiting to be thrown in the bin. The last thing I wanted to do now was to purchase something I couldn’t really afford, just for the sake of a couple of weeks.

S0…

After searching high and low in  the back of every kitchen cupboard, onto the breakfast bar I placed an array of ingredients, some organic, some not but, it was a start. I began to research ingredients that I could marry together to create a temporary skincare range that would be non toxic, affordable and kind to my skin.

Because of my Alkaline Diet Regime, two ingredients that I use regularly, Organic Coconut Oil & Organic Coconut Sugar, they were the first to go in to my mixing bowl. My thinking was the scrub would double up as a exfoliator and cleanser., so win win.

Organic Coconut & Lime Sugar Scrub.

I don’t know about you but, I am always saving jam jars, any jars, for a ” just in case” moment. Thankfully on this occasion the basket was filled to the brim with all shapes and sizes of pretty pots. I choose some cute little ones and began to fill them with the first of my Organic products.

This was also going to save me money on Christmas gifts too. I mean what better way to get feedback, than gifting samples of new products for Family & Friends to try.

My creative flair was now in full flow.

Organic Star Anise, Organic Brown Rice Water with Frankincense Resin & Colloidial Silver. Skin Tightening Toner.

What if I could make an Organic Face Cleanser, Skin Toner, Face Mask, Body Butter and Skin Moisturiser too????

So that is what I did….

Organic Lime & Ginger Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil & Frankincense Resin, Body Butter/Skin Moisturiser.

Frankincense Resin & Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Honey, Organic Cinnamon Face mask.

I use either glass or silicon reusable zipper bags to save on plastic waste. When my Family & Friends run out of any of the skin care products, obviously going on the basis that they are going to love them, they can just simply wash it out and, hand it back for me to refill.

All natural. No shelf life ingredients so must be used right away.

I now have a full range of Organic Skincare that I use daily. My skin has never felt so good.
